OuterNotes Gadget Reviews: Office Chairs
1. Macworld: How To Pick the Right Chair... http://macworld.zdnet.com/pages/articlelinks/picking.a.chair.explained.gif The folks at Macworld were so impressed with the $799.00 Zackback chair that it's become an instant fixutre in their offices. While the price may be steep for the average freelancer's budget, the illustrated guide to seat pans, chair arms, back pads and other criteria (e.g., proper fit, proper positioning, and uninterrupted blood flow to the lower body) can be used to rate other models you might be considering. --Jody Yerges 2. ...Before you "Leap" Into This Model http://www.leap-chair.com/ This chair's designers claim that "every human spine is as unique as the proverbial snowflake," and provide a wealth of diagrams -- and even videos -- to back their claim (we're still undecided about that metaphor, though). They also claim that the LEAP's wide range of individual customizations yield a user-specific seating platform that can mimic a sitter's spinal motion while enforcing an upright position to reduce the hunchback synonymous with non-ergonomic chairs. Like the Zackback, it's not cheap (list price is $745.00), but there's certainly enough useful info here to justify a visit, if not a purchase. --Sudeep Arya OuterNotes is produced using the OuterForce Platform, which allows publishers to easily recruit and manage remote and freelance content creation and export it into their publishing platform of choice.
