Rwanda and Zaire on the Web
By Gian Trotta
The genocidal Hutu-Tutsi conflict has spread to Zaire, and Western governments are readying another dubious and dangerous military intervention. David Straub's excellent Zaire Monitor collects news and resources about this troubled "Great Lakes" region. Relief Web provides daily updates from in-country U.N. staffers, while Canadian peacekeepers have started Postcards From Rwanda. The Mission Aviation Fellowship needs help flying doctors and computers into Rwanda; Mary Schnack and Rob Galbraith post personal stories testifying to Rwandans' incredible resiliency; and businessman Edward Marek's Zaire Watch indicts dictator Mobutu Sese Seko, who will face U.S.-based minister Stephen Nzita in next year's elections.

D-world: Home Page for the Letter D |

If there must be personal home pages in this plane of existence, please God
let more of them be as clever as this one from Dave Dorey. A divinely
inspired tribute to the fourth letter of the alphabet.

(Just another proud American of African and Native-American ancestry,
who enjoys the world around him. He sailored around the world and became
so enamoured of-Egypt, Spain and Singapore that it changed his whole way of thinking. Plenty to do for the travel-minded here.

came together in perfect harmony when he worked for snake-using rocker Alice
Cooper.
