Mulling Over a Move to the Moon?
By Gian Trotta
Last week's possible discovery of ice on the moon has heated up dreams of human colonization. Professor H.H. Koelle's Justification of a Lunar Base takes a hard, detailed look at the social, political, scientific, and commercial obstacles and benefits, while Mike Combs' beautifully illustrated Space Settlement describes an outbreak of violent lunacy among the first settlers. Jamal Wills envisions Avallon, where humans can fly like angels, but another Netizen pictures a shopping mall. If you don't like those plans, try Building a Lunar Settlement project for kids. Some New Jersey students are already planning the menus.
