WebWatch: Unclear but Prescient Dangers
By Gian Trotta

Halloween is past, but ghosts still lurk in the machine. Memes are bodiless ideas that seek to replicate, much as viruses do in a biological host (does the Jihad to Destroy Barney count?). Aspiring poltergeists can see how Minds Might Enter Cyberspace; others have already become "semiotic particles" ruled by a shadowy "Lion of Existance" (sic); we hope he's a better diety than speller. You may not even have a choice, once MRML -- Mind Reading Markup Language is completed. Meanwhile, The Prince of Darkness' home page nears completion -- guess the Devil is truly in the details!

Dave Jackson Visits Aruba
Some of you may have stumbled across Dave's excellent photo essay on Milan in Virtual Visits/Europe; now he's pointed his lens at two more beautiful si(gh)tes: Aruba, and Miss Taryn Mansell, who came within a whisker of Miss Universe 1996. You can enjoy both views here.
His Vorpal Sword
Believe it or not, there's some first-rate prose on the Web. Hart Williams is a columnist for the Santa Fe Sun and several other Southwestern newspapers; he's posted a bunch of his columns and book reviews, as well as short stories and unclassifiable gems. He's smart; he's informed; he's funny as hell
Jim Wolf's Honeybee Page
Jim believes that apitherapy, or bee venom therapy, retarded the progression of his multiple sclerosis. Each day he is bitten by 25 to 30 honeybees. Follow Jim on his journey and meet his bee supplier; the Pollen Man, who sells royal jelly; and learn lots about honeybees.
